
Sophie is a graduate of the Santa Clara University School of Law and the University of California at Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Economics. Her practice, as an Associate Attorney, focuses on labor and employment litigation, defending employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and wage and hour related issues. Sophie advises and counsels employers regarding various aspects of the employment process including hiring, discipline, termination practices, and developing other personnel policies and procedures in compliance with employment and labor laws.
Prior to joining Sims and Layton, Ms. Mai worked with Judge Margaret Johnson and Judge Vincent Chiarello of the Santa Clara County Superior Court. She also has worked at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
